Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Q: Does acupuncture hurt?

A: Acupuncture does not hurt. It does produce a "chi" sensation, sometimes described as a dull or heavy sensation. Acupuncture needles are cat-whisker thin and do not cut a small hole like hypodermic needles do.

Q: What if I don't like needles? Can I still experience acupuncture?

A: The great news is that you can receive needle-free acupuncture! We offer gentle Japenese style, where the needles are taped to specific points on your skin, but do not puncture the skin. And you still get the acupuncture benefit.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: The number of treatments needed varies per case. It can depend on factors such as type of illness, severity of injury, age, and health status of the patient. For most non-chronic situations, a person should notice an improvement in one or two sessions and may need a handful of sessions. We will provide a care plan when evaluating your needs.

Q: Can I get acupuncture if I am on blood thinners?

A: Yes, you can receive acupuncture while on blood thinners. We will always ask you about your medication regime. Certain medications may have interactions with some herbal medicine. Rest assured, we will only prescribe what is safe for you.
